For Coaches
Coaches
BHLL Is The Ideal Place To Volunteer Your Time As A Coach. Coaching in Beverly Hills Little League is one of the most rewarding experiences in youth sports. Not only do you have the opportunity to mentor and mold your own children; you have the chance to help develop the baseball skills of local youth in one of the finest youth leagues in Oakland County. You will become a part of a tight-knit community that is passionate about baseball, although baseball is only a part of what makes BHLL special. You will develop lifelong friendships, as will your children, through the interaction on the field and in the stands. If you are interested in coaching, read on to see how the commitment varies at the different levels of BHLL.
Coaching T-Ball
We are fortunate to have two fields at Bingham Farms Elementary exclusively for Tee Ballers. These 4, 5, and 6 year olds begin the season with one or two practices a week. Then once the season begins we will have one game during the week and one on Saturdays. It is the coaches’ responsibility to introduce the kids to the game of baseball and show them the fundamentals of baseball with an emphasis on learning the rules and being a good teammate.
Coaching Youth
The Youth level will play most of their games at either Beverly Elementary or Greenfield Elementary baseball fields. The 7 and 8 year olds at the Youth level hit a pitched ball (pitched by a coach). The concepts of making outs and learning the fundamentals of hitting are emphasized at the Youth level.
Coaching Minors
As 9 and 10 year olds, Minors play with the same rules as Little League baseball. Six inning games; umpires; score and standings are kept. There are a few rules pertaining solely to the Minors that help facilitate equal participation and orderly games. Minors typically have multiple games and practices per week---usually two games The commitment from players and coaches is greater, as is the level of baseball.
Coaching Majors
Primarily for 11 and 12 year olds, the Majors follow the rules of National Little League. The time commitment for players and coaches consists of 2-3 practices per week with 2 games per week. The level of baseball is high, and all Majors games are played at the top facilities in Beverly Hills, Beverly Park North and South fields.
